How to Get the URL of Images You Have Previously Uploaded in WordPress

In this tutorial, we will discuss that how you can get the URL of images that you have uploaded to your WordPress website.

Often beginner users who have just started to use WordPress find it hard to get the URLs of the images they have uploaded to their website.

Although at time of uploading images to WordPress it shows the URL, sometimes you may require retrieving the URL later for some other use. Here, we will show the steps that how you can get back those URLs very easily.

How to Get the URL of Images Uploaded to WordPress: 

First, login to your “WordPress Dashboard”, then go to “Media ⇒ Library”.

Once you have found the desired image you want to get the URL for, Click on that image.  It will take you to a screen where you can edit basic details of that image.

On the right side of the same screen, you will find a text field showing the URL of that image. As shown below:

Get Image URL

This is the current URL for that image you have uploaded to your WordPress site from your computer/PC. You can select and copy that URL and use the URL wherever you want, such as or embedding that image on some other website or sharing the image on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
